It all starts with Roots- a sense of understanding of new age ingredients; fresh, foraged, fragrant and facile.

This gastronomic route promises a journey that is new age. Indian, Asian and European food heritage come together effortlessly, under the discerning eye of Chef Chanchal Datta. All cuisines have one thing in common- the luscious taste that emanates from the correct use of ingredients- one of the things Chef Datta specializes in. Making ingredients shine is his passion and profession.

Setting standards that are international, whilst looking inwards at produce which is local is the aim of Roots. Food should not be complex- it should be a burst of flavours that can be celebrated in all it’s glory and freshness. The latter being key! Using local produce to create international flavours has been a passion of Chef Datta, and Roots brings it to life.  At Roots, the emphasis has always been catering to produce. To create exceptional dishes, the “roots”, the ingredients need to be perfect. Process follows Produce! Always!!

The space in the restaurant features a ‘glass vault’ that encourages socializing, whilst being true to your self. Much like the food being served. An effusive blend of Victorian design with new age features, the restaurant is a blend that pays homage to the roots, while looking ahead. A space that grows with our brand. A space that resonates with it’s essence. A space that is conducive to milling about, whilst enjoying private time. A space that is rooted in beauty, and the simplicity that comes from fresh, clean designs.
